Installation Greenboo decking undergoes some degree of linear expansion with the changes of weather and season.
To compensate for the effects of weather of contraction and expansion, the following installation standard must be maintained.
Spacing
*4-5mm side to side spacing between the board
*4-6mm gap between the deck board and any solid structure such as a wall and post.
*3-4mm gap between board ends.
This space will allow for air circulation, allow room for expansion and provide for the proper spacing as board become fully seasoned.
Ground-side Ventilation
The surface is at least 30-40 mm above the ground.
There must be adequate air circulation underneath the deck in order to prevent cupping and warping of boards.
In wet areas or over water additional clearance is recommended.
In close to ground applications, a vapour barrier may be necessary to prevent moisture from absorbing into the undersides of the boards.
Handling
Greenboo decking should be allowed to acclimate to the climate in your area for a few days prior to installation.
Cutting
Premium carbide tipped saw blades are recommended for cutting boards.
Finishing
If natural weathering to a silver gray is desired, use a high quality water seal products.
To maintain original colour, a high quality penetrating oil finish with UV inhibitors should be used.
Before application of sealers, brush and wash the surface to remove any dust, dirt and sticker residue.
Periodic cleaning with simple soap and water will enhance the appearance of your deck.
Greenboo Decking Installation Guide:
There are two types of installations. Either with hidden fasteners or classical screwing method.
1) Installation using the hidden fasteners system;
Hidden fasteners are being used to avoid the unsightly look of screws on the top of the profile.
* Hidden fasteners have to be placed between the profiles and on top of the wood substructure (joists).
* Each hidden fastener is screwed down between the profiles to have a strong & durable structure.
* After installing the hidden fastener the next decking profile has to be attached with the standard gap of 4-5 mm which is automatically done by the TY fixing.
* The installer team has to make sure that the installation is made proper & according to the factory standards.
* Only the first and last profiles of the complete decking structure have to be screwed directly down.
* The rest can be installed with the hidden fasteners greatly reducing installation times.
The screws always have to be applied with the 90 Degree angle to the joists

Stainless steel screws have to be used to avoid future problems caused by weather conditions. If the coated or galvanized screws have been used, it could cause black staining or reduce decking life.
